Emotional and Digital Intelligence Curriculums for Students
Education is the backbone of any society.
Education is really undergoing an overhaul as technology changes the way students both access information and use it. Information is readily available but knowing how to learn, which information is relevant and truthful and also how to wield information for life success, have become imperative skills in education.
21st century mindsets and skills are now required by both students and teachers and Emotional and Digital Intelligence are recognised as two of the most necessary tools to success in our fast-paced world.
CBD’s Emotional, Digital and Life Skills curriculum is written from grade R- 10 and covers both Digital Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence- the skills required to set students up for a successful future.
Emotional Intelligence
Academics is a huge component of education, but it isn’t the biggest success factor. Emotional Intelligence is the SINGLE BIGGEST predictor of a successful life, well above IQ (Intelligence Quotient).
Emotional intelligence (otherwise known as emotional quotient or EQ) is the ability to understand, use, and manage one’s own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict. Emotional intelligence helps one build stronger relationships, succeed at school, in the workplace, and achieve both career and personal goals. It is the most desired characteristic that businesses look for when recruiting employees.
The CBD curriculum teaches Emotional Intelligence which assists students in being able to:
