 CBD’s overarching goal is to showcase what a thriving Durban community looks like, ie:

To see Durban thrive and become a leading city in the world of how to live out a healthy community- merging business innovation, education, philanthropy, and family life to form a Durban that functions seamlessly and successfully in all areas.

our Mission

Community Build Durban seeks to grow a thriving Durban community via 4 avenues:

1. Social Media   

   We use our social media platforms to uplift and showcase a positive view of Durban and South Africa, increasing understanding and unity of Durban citizens and South Africans as a whole.

2. CBD Talk Evenings

Think… TED Talks! We run a CBD Talk series- evenings where Durbanites get to hear from our leading experts on the latest and most exciting developments in the city. Each evening is centred around a particular sector (eg: Health, education, arts and culture), and connects corporates, government, NPO’s, and educational institutions working in the field, as well as being open to the general public.

Four guest speakers who are on the cutting edge of their fields present 15- 20min inspirational “TED“ talks. These talks cover the projects the speaker is involved in, the latest innovations in the fields, and the direction the sector is moving towards (for both Durban and the world in general).

Networking is encouraged at the event to help beneficial connections, collaboration and partnerships form.

This is a great chance to hear from some of Durban’s latest and greatest! And they never disapoint!  

3.       Community Build Life:

Community Build believes that one of the key areas that drives success, is life in general!! The organization places a big emphasis in mining for gold and releasing the greatest potential in both businesses and people, and provides Business Coaching, Life Coaching, Business and Leadership Training, and resources to the Durban community in the following formats:

• Corporate Training/ Coaching (Business Coaching, Leadership, Life Coaching, Emotional Intelligence, Innovation Coaching).

• Life coaching.

• Educational Curriculums and Training:

  • Emotional and Digital Intelligence Curriculums (Grade R - 12)

  • Teacher/ Staff Training on emotional and digital intelligence, and how to teach emotional and digital intelligence to kids.

• Counselling.

4. The CBD Community Transformation Project:

Our CBD Transformation Project aims to bring transformational change within rural communities.

The project entails entering a community and partnering with other organisations to bring excellence to it. This includes:

• Ensuring Quality Education (Study centres, supporting local schools, working alongside other similar-minded organisations to bring about positive change in the education sector, curriculum writer)

• Community Projects

• Education Training

• Upgrading Infrastructure/ Community Services

• Job creation

• Life coaching/ Leadership training

• Student Internship Programs
